Your Name

Sierra Rowley

I'm a first-year PhD student at University of California, San Diego, exploring how to build secure systems with programming language-based techniques.

Who I am

I'm a first-year PhD student in Computer Science at UCSD, advised by Deian Stefan and Ranjit Jhala, and supported by NSF GRFP. My research sits at the intersection of Security and Programming Languages. I'm all about security by construction, making developers' lives easier, and working on problems from real systems!

In 2022, I recieved a B.S. in Computer Science at Brown University.

Following graduation, I spent 2.5 years as a Security Engineer at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, in Newport, RI, securing the computer systems on US Submarines.

Outside of research, I spend time outside looking at all the beautiful things in the world!
